    • Representing an athlete in a selection dispute in wrestling for the 2014 Commonwealth Games before Sport Resolutions.
    • Representing an athlete in an appeal against funding being withdrawn in swimming before Sport Resolutions.
    • Advising a UK ice hockey player on his appeal against an 8 year ban for two doping violations.
    • Advising an international heavyweight boxer on his application for a therapeutic use exemption under the WADA Code.
    • Advising on the law relating to restraint of trade clauses and interim injunctions and the discretion in both sporting regulations and the civil law.
    • Advising on the relationship between the Arbitration Act and the court’s jurisdiction.
    • Representing a boxing promoter and manager in high profile regulatory hearings and commercial litigation including libel and defamation issues.

  • Governance, Integrity & Compliance

    • Participating in a mock dawn raid as part of compliance training for a client.
    • Delivering workshop session on good governance for INTERPOL/FIFA at their match-fixing events around the world.
    • Being part of an emergency Ethics Panel for an international sports federation.
    • Producing a risk assessment, intelligence protocol and investigation action plan for a national sports governing body regarding betting, integrity and match-fixing.
    • Non-executive director of the British Volleyball Federation responsible for legal and governance matters.

  • Intellectual Property

    • Advising an estate agency on an IP coexistence agreement.
    • Drafting numerous trade mark applications, licences and assignments across various sectors.
    • Managing a trade mark portfolio for a private equity house across numerous territories.
    • Representing a major animation and film studio in litigation as defendant to a claim for copyright infringement and breach of confidence.
    • Drafting cease and desist letters and associated undertakings.
    • Advising an overseas manufacturer of toys on the similarity of designs made by an alleged counterfeiter based in the UK.
    • IP due diligence for corporate deals.
    • Advising on trade mark and passing off claims by various retailers.

  • Policy & Advisory

    • Writing a report on international and European sports policy for the Council of Europe and delivered it at their Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport meeting.

  • Regulatory & Competition

    • Advising on both FIFA's Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players and Disciplinary Code.
    • Part of an emergency Ethics Panel for an international sports federation.
    • Amending a sports governing body's disciplinary procedures and regulations and delivering training on the changes.
    • Advising the purchaser of a football club on the regulations relating to international loan transfers. Advising professional football clubs on buy-out clauses, image rights and bridge transfers.
    • Advising whether a prize promotion associated to the sponsorship of a major sporting event was a regulated activity under gambling legislation.
    • Analysing a bond prospectus documents highlighting any possible competition issues.
    • Drafting sections of submissions to the national regulator for a competition investigation into extended warranties.
    • Acting for an international publisher regarding the US, UK and EU competition investigations into eBooks.
    • Advising arbitrage clients on competition issues for companies which they have invested in.
    • Analysing and compiled share of supply merger control regimes in the EU.
    • Drafting advice in relation to what actions can and cannot be taken by staff during a national competition regulator’s investigation.

    • Delivering training for FIFPro (the world football players’ union) in the Netherlands as part of their Executive Education Programme.
    • Visiting Fellow at Edge Hill University delivering an annual lecture and collaborating on a social media and sport project.
    • Lecturer and previously module leader for the Sport Legal Environment & Broadcasting masters module at Coventry University, Business School.
